Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to the team in relation to the on-going implementation of relevant rules and regulations within the Firm
- Keep abreast of relevant SFC, HKMA and HKEx (SFC in particular) rules and regulations relating to the business of the Firm
- Provide advisory services in various compliance areas (including licensing) to multiple businesses and support functions; identify and manage key risk areas
- Involved in core compliance functions including timely production of high quality management / regulatory reporting to various stakeholders including the Head Office
- Develop, maintain and update compliance policies and procedures
- Assist with regulatory management, including reviews and routine regulatory enquiries
- Undertake ad hoc compliance projects as required
- Develop and deliver compliance training to all levels of staff on an ongoing basis
- Mentor junior members of the team
Requirements
- Degree qualified (Law degree or other closely-related professional qualification)
- At least 6+ years of local Compliance experience gained within banking and/or securities environment
- Working knowledge of Hong Kong banking and securities rules and regulations and their application to the business; Hands-on experience in develop and implement practical solutions
- Knowledge of banking and securities products, operations and services
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills - ability to clearly articulate the regulatory implications to stakeholders
- Fluency in written and verbal English; fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning
- Detail oriented, organized and efficient; sound project management skills
- A self-motivated, enthusiastic and fast learner who functions well in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, determine priorities and meet deadlines
- Computer skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Access), Chinese typing skills preferred
